Open churches in Ely Diocese

Below is a list of parishes in Ely Diocese, arranged by deanery, which I have good reason to believe keep their church building open each day during the week. Perhaps controversially, I don’t count a church as open if I need to go and find a keyholder!

E&OE, so:
Some of these churches may not be open any more
There will be other open churches which I don’t know about
Most of this information comes from a personal visit by me, some comes from blog visitors, and some from other websites: Ben Colburn and Mark Ynys-Mon’s Cambridgeshire Churches Simon Knight’s Norfolk Churches.

If you spot any errors or omissions, I would be very pleased to have the information and update this list!

Please note that this is not an official page belonging to Ely Diocese – this is just my own list compiled for my own interest and for the benefit of would-be churchcrawlers.

  1. West Dereham is open

  2. Denver is open

  3. Cambridge All Saints and St. Peter’s – both Churches Conservation Trust, but still consecrated I think – are both open.

Could Michaelhouse be added in brackets after Cambridge-St. Michael’s as it is usually known as this?

  4. Hi Steve, Ashley (Fordham and Quy) is open.

  5. Mary Hancock said:

St Mary’s Mepal is usually open on Tuesdays from about now to October.
